t56 bolt to a big block?
can a t56 be bolted to a big block? i have a freind with a big block in his camaro and was wondering what it would take for this to work, if at all. its a 69 camaro with a 454 in it. he is tired of driving around with a th400 and 4.56 rear, so he wants a 6 speed. thanks

Yup, it'll bolt right to it. I saw a 69 SS with a ZZ502/T-56 last January make 3 dyno runs at our regional gathering.
The flywheel won't work though, same 2pc/1pc rear main probs as with the 350's. Two options exist, he can get a stock 4th gen T-56 and a centerforce flywheel or he can use the aftermarket box with a lakewood bellhousing with a 168 tooth wheel and 11" clutch. If he uses the aftermarket box and bell, he'll have to use thirdgen clutch hydraulics or a hydraulic throwout bearing.
