No such thing as a "bullet proof" T-5. Unless you replace the case and figure out how to make the shafts bigger, they simply are what they are, and that's that.
¿$2300 for a T-56? You must have ben calling GM and asking about new ones :sillylol: They go for around $600-1200 out of a wrecked car; get the trans, BH, flywheel, & clutch hydraulics out of a 94-97 car.

well i know they make bulletproof 700r4's so i figured they maybe made a bulletproof t5
as far as 2300 that's how much i was quoted by other 3rd gen members fort all the parts - trans, clutch, x-member, etc. - for a full install on my own not in a shop
buy new from GM ? what are you smoking bc i want some

A World Class T-5 might last awhile. I had a friend who made a good 15-20 passes (running 115 mph) plus lots of street driving and the T-5 made it about a year before it sheared 7 teeth off 3rd gear. It was pretty cool.

forget the T5 you can get a good setup for about 1700 to 1900 for a complete t56 swap. The T56 is stronger and better for fuel economy.

I'm assuming that you have a one piece rear main seal. You should be able to score a T56 complete setup for about $1500 shipped to your door on ebay. I got mine for $1300 shipped. You can chop your crossmember to save yourself $100 and get the dakota digital SGI-5 to correct your speedometer. the slave cynlinder may or may not be included but that costs about $75. The T56 package should include the transmission, bell housing, flywheel, clutch and pressure plate. If the flywheel needs to be machined, that won't cost too much. And the rest of the money is for incase you wanna get a completely new clutch and pressure plate.
