Need some help before the tranny guy tries to rip me off

i just got my 700r4 rebilut with a shift kit superior stage 2 and i have had the car for 2 weeks and the tranny broke down again . he gets the trnny out looks in it he said "the sprock" suposety broke because my car idels too high its an 85 z28 305 tpi i told him wait a few mins to warm up from cold start and that when u put it in to drive that rpms are too high and it will some times hit hard in to gear he said its not supposed to do that and that why the sprock broke i told we had this car for 8 years and u gona tell me now that it has a new tranny that its gona break the sprock so easy. so the othe rtranny should have broke along time ago

can some one help be for this guy tries to rip me off it has a 1 year warranty but he said if idont get the idle fixed that he wont warranty it ????


and also i have gotten the rear end rebuilt from 3.23 to 3.42 and now its sluggish off the line before when u stomp on the petal it will spin out now with the 3.42 it just goes no burning out orany thing just a chirp from the shift ????????? tranny or rear end problem ?


any help i will apprecicate

i believe it's called a sprag and your mechanic needs to step away from the crack pipe, but if your idle is too high you ought to fix it. what did you expect would happen when you went to a lower gear? if you wanted more smoke you should of went higher.

ede, you might wanna check your crack pipe, i have always experienced, more tire slippage, by going to a numerically higher gear, 3.23 to 3.73 well worth the cash,for a great holeshot, i just gotta get it to the ground

Yeah, but smoke is a function of tire rpm. The faster your tires are rotating, the more smoke will roll off. Numerically lower gears allow the tire to rotate (given a fixed redline)faster in a single gear than if it were numerically higher.

SO from 3.23 to 3.42 i should have better take off and should brun rubber easy

and i got my car back and they said i broke the sprag and said it was my idel and from me down shifting the car i did all of this and more with the original

and also on the hwy 3rd shifts around 35-4000 to 4th and after that it wont kick down no more why is this

You're trans guy is an idiot. Not much you can do at this point, maybe throw a few suprise questions at him like can't you update it to a 28 element sprag and make sure theres a waved cushion plate in the forward clutch stack and while your in there tighten the forward clutch clearance down to .015 to .040.
