How many LBS. GVW Trans cooler should i get.

I am getting a trans cooler for my car. My question is how much cooling should I get, as in what lbs. GVW rating? Also when installing a trans cooler should I run the fluid through the stock transmission cooler then into the new transmission cooler or just bypass the stock cooler?

Run it through both coolers for extra cooling. It's there, why not use it?

12000 lbs GVW should work fine.

Use the largest plate style coolers such as B&M's. The plate style coolers are the most efficient transmission coolers out there and they are more compact in size compared to tube and fin style coolers. I use my cooler in conjunction to the cooler on the radiator. Hope this helps.
