9 bolt 10 bolt question

I have a 9 bolt rear and was thinking about purchasing a 10 bolt to replace the 9 bolt. will my disc brake setup fit on the 10 bolt?

I would have to say no, but I've been wrong before. I think there was enough difference in those rears to make that a big problem.

Yes, the 10-bolt will fit your car and long as it is from an 82-88 f-body. The ones from 89-92 have a different brake setup and require modification. I just did the opposite 2 weeks ago. I swapped out my 10-bolt for a 9-bolt that I got from and 88 Trans Am.

huh? He didn't ask if the diff would fit.

yes and no. The calipers and rotors are the same but the mounting bracket is different. The mounting flange on a drum brake axle is different than a disk brake mounting flange. You will have to do some modifications and drill some new holes to get it to work.
