700r4 to t5-6 Swap questions
okay....In aboiut a month, I'm ripping out the trusty 305 (135kmiles) ans slamming in a crate 350TPI. I want to switch to manual tranny at same time. I have heard that the t-5 can not handle the torque (reason why it was never a factory option). So...I want to shove a t5-6 up in there.
Not too big of a deal. Tremec makes one that slides up in there perfectly.
Heres my question: Where can I get the rest of the stuff (i.e pedals, master/slave cylinder, hydraulic lines)? I don't have alot of time to spend in junk yards, but if thats the best option.......
Also, what other things do I need? Do I need a different cross-member? Drive shaft?

For the the parts(pedals etc) check with one of the site sposors. Ive dealt with thirdgen recourse alot since they are local. Very cool folks to deal with.

I'd go with a used T56 Borg Warner, you'll spend an assload of money otherwise. Just look around and read some Tech articles. The one on thirdgen.org kinda sucks in my opinion (ok, it really sucks). I wrote a better one, but lost all my discs when I moved and man.......that was a long bastard.
Anyways, look around. I'd get as much as you can used. The hydraulic crap (master/slave/reservoir and lines) can be purchased new from a GM parts counter for only 150 bucks (thanks Jethro). Get used T-5 pedals. Ahhh...what am I saying...just look around.
Email if you're REALLY gonna do it, but for a crate 350 AND a T56, you'd better have a pile of money sittin somewhere.
