3 73s in my 87, should i put them in..and ?;ss

Well i am running 2:73's with a mostly stock motor, some mods and some more to come. My buddy just took his 3:73's out of a 87 GTA..Should i put them into mine (have some one do it) ..I am getting them for 40$.. How much is an install kit and how much to shops charge to put them in..How hard is it to install my self..

Basically will these gears work and will it be worth putting them in..
THanks and please help out
thanks
Aj

what are your mods? what are the future mods you plan on? I have 3.73 gears in my car it had 3.23 gears so I did notice a differance but, even with my mods I think around a 3.42 gear would have been better. I you want to use some used gears you can get almost any combo from a s-10 $40 or less at the junk yard and swap them in.

3.42 may be a better choice.

the 3.73's run a chance of running you out of powerband before you hit the 1320.

However, If you have extensive Motor Mod's Planned for the future Including a Change from the LTR setup to something like a Lt1, HSR< SR< or MR... then Jump on it.

I got My rear put together for 150 + 50$ for the installation Kit. Thats a fairly good price, tho.

I picked my 3.42's up off Cz28.com I Just posted that I was looking for Takeoff 3.42's and got them for like, 30 bucks or something.

Setting them Up takes alot of precision, I paid to have these done for me.

When I go to 3.73, Im going to attempt It myself However.

If you havent messed around in there before, I would recommend paying someone to do it.
