desisions:lt1 or stealth on a 406
i dont know which one i sould go with!
they both cost about the smae including fuel rails. i know the lt1 intake would be great for the engine im building but i think the stealth ram might be a beter choice
these are the specs and whats making this a dificult desision:
both of these intakes have small plelum volume and have short runners that are great for big cube small blocks but the stealths runners ar a little longer that would give more torq which would be great but not sure if it is neaded with the 406
they sould have close to the same rpm potential and flow potential
another thing to concider is that i will be runing the afr 210 race heads which only come in early intake bolt patterns
i would have to redrill the holes in the lt1 intake but thestealth with bolt right up which is bice
another thing is that to put a lt1 intake on you must have a remote theromstat housing and have the intake retaped for new coolent outlets
agian i dont know what to do can some of you guys help me deside

I heard from a good source that AFR will put a LT1 bolt pattern on a standard head for you. I don't know if it's extra charge or not.........

Reaally, thanks John, that's interestng to know.
As for your question Jerflash, it's probably six one way, half dozen the other. Trust me, unless you go HUGE with the cam, low end torque will not be an isssue. The AFR 210's are a great choice for that engine (I'm using them myself on the firebird). With the right cam and prom tuning you should see well over 500 hp.

Well, I'm running a custom comp solid roller cam, 281/281 advertised, 247/247 @.05 lift .584/.584 with 1.6 rockers, 112* LSA, 110* intake centerline. It's a pricey way to go compared to reusing your stock hydraulic roller, and you have to run the valves occasionally. If you're gonna use a hydraulic roller, make sure you get the rev kit from AFR as well or you're gonna lose a lot of rpms.

OOps, busted, thanks Gofasterfirebird, of course he cant' reuse his stock lifters if he's going to a 406 *blush*. Sorry 'bout that wasn't paying enough attention. But still holds true if he's gonna use an aftermarket hydraulic roller.
