who is running a lt1 cam

I am looking into putting a 96-97 LT1 cam in my 350 tpi engine. i have the 91-93 caprice engine with a crappy cam in it now. what do i have to do to the heads to get this cam to work right. i plan on using 1.6 roller rockers also, can the cam just go in by itself. the engine is brand new and on the engine stand still. i do have a LT4 HOT camkit but i think that cam is too much for the heads on the engine and then i would have to have a custom made chip. i just want to put the lt1 cam in and go thats all. it is going in a 91z28 with tpi and mods listed in sig.

for the effort, swapping in the LT1 cam wouldnt be worth it. take a look:

what your running now first and LT1 cam second:

.403/.415 202/206 115
.447/.459 201/208 116

you would be better off just going with some 1.6 rockers, it will give you the same results

With the 1.6 rockers you'll be roughly .477/.489 lift 205/207 deg duration @.050 and a 117 lsa.
Some people will say it's not worth it to install an LT1 cam,but with 1.6 rockers and hogging the snot out of your heads as I did,you will see a big improvement over stock. With the LT4 hotcam you'll want to get some better flowing heads.

here is the cam specs on the camin the 91-93 caprice engine and the cam specs on the lt1 cam

caprice 178/194 .350/.385
lt1 201.208 .447/.459
so with these specs i thinki t will be of a benifit to put the lt1 cam in my motor.
