What Mods Do U Recomend....Both LB9 and L98 engines

Hey

What mods do u guys suggest for a 1985 - 1990 305 TPI. What are the best mods that u can get for the LB9 engine. What other things should be done to the LB9 engines to make them perform there best. Thanks for ur input.

List Ur Camaro/Trans Am mods that u have done to ur LB9 engines, what kind of performance gain did u feel from the mods and what mods do u think are the best for the LB9 engine.

All u L98 guys...what kinda mods have u done to ur L98 engines that u think could be done to the LB9. List Ur L98 Camaro/Trans am mods that u have done to ur engines. Which mods are the best for the L98 engines. What mods do u think are a must. What mods should be done to the LB9 and L98 engines. What mods work the best for the L98 and are a must have. Thanks for ur input.

well I haven't done alot of mods yet, but here is my opinion. first thing I would do is ignition stuff. I did a catback first but I had a chance to put on an aftermarket coil for just a little bit and it was really nice. and I know with my car the ignition is just kinda slopy and dead. so if I were you I'd do igntion, exhaust then some work on a ram air unit or something to that manner. hope this helps a little bit.

Mods are in the sig.

My MAF is dead so the A/F is WAY off. I also have to get a set of runners and a 52mm throttle body to spruce it up a little more. But it's comming along. The cam and the comverter alone would have turned it into a completley new car.

As for what I gained. I feel it's a little faster

I would recommend upgrade to 3.42 or 3.73 gears, good catback, a set of headers. I think these are the best bang for the buck

Well, this is a BL9 Engine 305 5 speed in a GTA, The "must" mods are headers, cat-back and some sort of intake mod be it homemade or afrtmrtkt and maybe a chip. I'd say that'll give you 30+hp with those 4 mods. I went from 15.4 @90mph to 14.6 @96 for about $500 or less. Then a cam swap will help a lot, it's a lot of work, but I feel I picked up a lot of HP with it(Crane 2032 214/220 ~.500" lift)( and a siamesed base), I'll have real timeslips come friday, but so far I know I gained at least .2 sec and 1 mph(G-Tech). I think real gains will be more like 14.1 or 14.2 at 99 mph. all on stock heads in a 305.

if you plan on sticking with the 305, a new set of world 305 heads will do wonders for the 305. If you can get a set of L98 aluminum heads, they would be nice too. You'll feel the biggest difference from a cam, but it is a lot of work to do it. A good days work to be exact.
