Did I really fix my Code 32 problem that easily?

Check engine light flashed last time I drove the car about a month ago. Code 32. Read all the applicable threads. Poking around under the hood a couple days ago trying to decide if I want to pull the plenum or what and find that the vacuum line between throttle body and evap canister is loose at TB end. Seal it up with just a dab of RTV silicone, and let it cure. Drive up and down the highway today for a good while, maintaining a steady throttle (trying to replicate the conditions under which it threw the code last time). I fully expected the check engine light to flash on me today and it never did. Did I luck into an easy code 32 fix or is the car just playing with me? Haha

On 90-92 sd the most common cause of the 32 is egr solenoid failure.

Assuming it requires a solenoid replacement, I’m handy but not a mechanic by any means, how wary should I be of doing the work myself? My main concern would be getting the TV cable out of wack when pulling/replacing the plenum/TB. I’m pretty comfortable replacing the gaskets and such but I don’t want to wind up needing a new transmission cause I replaced the EGR solenoid myself.
