Re: Engine Running Issue

Did you email me something? I didn't get it. Or are you referring to the previous cylinder #1 log?

Heated O2 Sensor Retrofit Kit Early 1 Wire GM

"This kit allows a new style heated oxygen sensor to be installed on a vehicle that originally came with a non-heated, 1 wire sensor. The heated oxygen sensors are more active and more responsive than the non-heated sensors and are also more resistant to contaminates such as lead.

Typical applications are late 1980's through early 1990's GM vehicles when aftermarket headers are used or a great choice when replacing the factory non-heated O2 sensors. Simple two-wire installation. Kit comes complete with 4-wire heated oxygen sensor and adapter harness."

O2 Sensor Extension Harness SQR

"When installing aftermarket headers and cat-back systems in your vehicle, the oxygen sensor is frequently relocated, usually far enough away from the original wiring location that the connector cant be re-installed. You cannot cut and splice oxygen sensor wiring since this can permanently damage the sensor and considerably reduce accuracy of the signal. These extensions are "Plug-And-Play" and utilize OEM connectors, terminals and seals with OEM wiring to maintain precisely accurate signals and safely extend the wiring connections. Note: Please check your connector shape and color to see if it matches your application."

Re: Engine Running Issue

Ok, yeah, #1 is behaving like 3 and 5. So my theory is still holding about the #7 injector.

But again, this is an educated guess. Not sure if anyone else has any other thoughts.

So I guess it's up to you at this point if you want to go after the #7 injector. Clearly you'd be taking a chance.

And if the injectors are really old, I don't know that I'd tear down the TPI manifold to just replace one injector. I'd probably get a complete and matched set from say, Southbay injectors.

Re: Engine Running Issue

The injectors are from Southbay about 5 years ago with maybe a thousand miles.

Which would you recommend

Re: Engine Running Issue

THANK YOU ULTM8Z
I really appreciate all your time and expertise !!!
I never would have been able to trouble shoot this and would have had to use the "Parts Canon" and that is never good $$$

Re: Engine Running Issue

I'd probably give them a call and let them know about this troubleshooting effort to get their opinion. Also they're opinion on what injectors you should get.

Maybe just replace the one if they're only 5 years old? Again probably ask then

Hopefully this solves your issues.

Re: Engine Running Issue

Well I would assume something that is powered up 12V+ only in Key On Engine On. Probably a fuel pump relay.

I've only used Casper's plug and play 4 wire heated O2 retrofit kit on a Grand National/TTA and it tees into the EGR control solenoid circuit.
