LT1 intake question

instead of using heater hose nipples for the coolant exit on the LT1 intake conversion, would using a 1/2 NPT to 10AN fitting then some -10AN stainless steel braided hose with 90 degree -10AN ends to another 10AN to 1/2 NPT fitting then into the remote thermostat housing work?

They would work but also the 90° ends would restrict flow dramaticly. I looked at AN first since I can get them for next to nothing. I didn't like the reduced inner diameter of the 90° ends though.

i guess running the line straight off the 1/2 NPT to 10AN fitting with some flexible ss line would work fine too.

Flexable SS line is expensive. The LT1 intake swap is to save money so I stayed rubber. If I had money to burn I would have just bought a miniram.

I thought about 90* ends, but thought there would be a clearance problem trying to thread them into the intake. The hose end will hit the intake when threading it down.

they have swivel 90 degree fittings with flaired ends that will stay in one spot while you tighten down the nut on the fitting. perfectly safe for coolant/fuel/vacuum/etc...

You have to make sure that they are not a centimeter bigger than the nipples that John has. Your throttle lever on the TB will come back and hit it. Mine did anyways. It was my nitrous plate that saved my *** and gave me the extra clearance I needed... and it was still close.

Sofa, keep in mind that if you run the plate setup to move the TB out away from your new LT1 coolant lines, you'll need to worry about the TB now hitting the tensioner even worse. I'm using a nozzle setup now...sold the plate on ebay for this reason. Of course this is for serp applications only...I dont know if it applies to you. See ya.

True, I do not have the serpentine setup. I do not know how it would work out for them.
