Racetronix Pump Fuel Pressure bleeding down
I've just installed a new Racetronix kit RXP255E with a turbine pump. I previously had 40lbs plus at the fuel rail running and after Key Off for a good while. With the new pump, the fuel pressure now drops to 0 with KO. At first I thought bad injector or my Holley AFPR but I found a reference by General Disorder ( https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/tpi/...injectors.html #12) saying this is normal. Hats off to him so I'm not chasing my tail but I'm not clear whether I need a check valve or not. Can someone clear this up.
thanks
Brian

Not really. As long as you have psi while cranking and running, you're ok.

Re: Racetronix Pump Fuel Pressure bleeding down
Pressure only matters when running. Turbine pumps are not positive displacement and don't include check valves so they naturally act differently than the stock pump. It's not an issue.

Re: Racetronix Pump Fuel Pressure bleeding down
Check valves were for the OEM to facilitate re-starts with less cranking. This was for the customer and also for emissions (ultimately)
If you have a problem you can key on and wait for the prime to finish and build pressure before you start cranking

Re: Racetronix Pump Fuel Pressure bleeding down
I just checked the Racetronix site and strangely they claim to have an internal check valve on that pump. Regardless, the car starts fine, holds pressure while running so I'm not going to mess with it.
Thanks.
Thanks.
