What do stock 91 Speed Density L98 TPI's dyno at the wheels?

I might have a chance to get one.

How hard is it to switch a 91 305 TBI car over to a speed density L98 TPI?

Where are the links I should read to get informed?

I don't know what they dyno, but they typically run mid-low 14s at a decent track (i.e. not in colorado, etc)

As for how hard the swap is, it all depends on how you do it and how good you are at wiring. Dyno Don swapped TPI into a TBI car and IIRC used the stock wiring harness, just repinned at the ECM end for the 730 ECM and with 4 injectors per old wire instead of one....

Well I have a good friend that's helping with a strong back ground in industrial electronics so I'd sure like to know more about how they did swap.

Just start searching the boards. No offense, but noone is gonna sit here and walk you through it again when it's been covered many, many times in the past. When you have some specific problems/questions, we can help you, but at this point it seems like you have a lot of research to do.

my car dynoed 243 hp with full exhaust and an air foil and an AFPR. so i assume that it would have dynoes about 205-210 RWHP stock. i know it is a 90 but they are the exact same engine in 91 and 90.

No offense taken, just seems like the data is harder to find on the L98 stock dyno's, and while it's been covered in the past, it's still new to me and yes I do have a lot of research to do, I just want a point in the right directions.

This is what you need to research. You are already pointed inthe right direction, everything you need to know has already been posted. If you have a question after you have a better idea of what is involved, we can help...

Hey!!! The track is decent, just the density of air sucks! About 20% less than you sea shore lovin' people.

Mine dynoed 176rwhp and 280rwtq bone stock. This was with a pretty poor fuel filter and old spark plugs. My guess is 190 to the wheels as an average #.

Reseach at the local Dyno

I went with the Carolina F-Body Club to Percision Dyno in Belmont this weekend. There were 2 3rd Gen's with 5.7 TPI's. So I had a chance to see a few first hand dyno's runs for L98's and see what they can and can't do.

The first car had a L98 w/20w-50 oil, Edelbrock headers, aftermarket runners, flowmaster, MSD box, cold air kit, 3.73 gears and a hypertech chip. 160,000 miles

Base line was 200rwhp and 280rwtq.
Basic tuning (fuel pressure & timing) got 210rwhp and 300rwtq
Pulling out the hypertech chip got 220rwhp and 313rwtq with tuning.

Car was rich and a new chip is being burned to help with the tuning.

I was impressed all in all.

The second car had L98, headers, aftermarket runners, flowmaster,MSD, cold air kit, custom tuning, heads and cam. I can't remeber the specs on the cam or how much work the heads had in them.

Baseline was 245rwhp and 280rwtq for something like that.
Final numbers were 289 rwhp and 335rwtq

The graphs really looked like the neither car couldn't breath after 4200 rpm but the torque was fairly impressive.

From the stock ones that I've seen 205Hp to the wheels is about average. But, the tourque rules at 300+ ft lbs at the wheels.
