L98 what mods should I do next... thinking HSR?

I've got a 89 Iroc L98 car. The entire car has just a little over 100k on it. Right now it has Hedman heads and Y pipe, no cat, a Hooker catback with a e cutout, gutted air box with k and ns, aluminum ds, and a 3.42. I'd like to do some more to it. I've been thinking about going with a Holley Stealth Ram, it just seems to me like I'm ready to breath a little better before I go internal plus I hate the fact that the car feels like it stops pulling at 4500 but doesn't shift until 5500. What do you guys think my next mod should be? If I do go stealth ram will a tune be absoultely necessary and if it is whats the best bet on a tune? I'm not against learning to tune it if its fairly simple because more than likely more mods will follow. Sorry if this has been covered.

Re: L98 what mods should I do next... thinking HSR?

The HSR does look like a great intake for the price. I have a vastly modified TPI that pulls hard past 6,200 but could have put together an HSR that would out flow it for quite a bit less money. The only issue I have with the HSR is that I would have to modify it to clear my strut tower brace. Since my car is a corner carver by design, I won't give up the brace.

Hsr runs fine on stock tune just set base timing 8-10 deg advanced instead of 6.

Car will be completely transformed over stock tpi. Hsr L98 thats mechanically sound with headers exhaust 3.23-3.73 gears and stall is a mid 13 sec car easily. Good air and light drag wheels, with tuning, its possible to touch high 12's. Been there done that

That's the beauty of the HSR. It can be bolted on to the stock L98 and run great. A slight reduction in low end torque but midrange torque and peak HP that more than make up for it. Then, when you want to get serious, the HSR will support serious engine upgrades.
