Will fouled plugs cause Code 43?
I have leaking valve seals- 194,000 miles on the engine and plugs 6 and 8 are getting fouled. I have a code 43 showing that won't clear- are the fouling plugs causing the code, or do you think I have bigger issues?

shouldn't cause any codes unless you are leaking oil onto the knock sensor connector or wire and it is getting inside. Do you have a valve cover gasket leak? Ever try spark plug anti foulers?

Fixed it! Jacked the car up and found the knock sensor wire hanging free with a broken connector. New pigtail, connected to sensor, cleared code, running like new! And yes, the #6 and 8 plugs are still oiling... Seals are next!
