Limp Home Mode curiosity

Limp Home Mode curiosity
A few Weeks ago I had a thread going about diagnosing a code 33 and 34 among other things. I ended up replacing the MAF sensor and both MAF relays. My start and throttle issues were corrected, but I continued to get awful mileage.
I have driven this car daily for a few months and have consistently gotten 90 miles out of a full tank of fuel. This is after setting timing, full tune up, replacing relays, TPS sensor and IAC valve.
3 days ago I killed my battery by not shutting the door all of the way. The ECU reset. Since, I have gotten 50 miles out of just over 1/4 tank. Was limp home mode enabled because of my MAF problems? Would there be any way to know if it was enabled? I hqve no trouble codes whatsoever.
