throttle pos sensor symptoms?
ok, before i change out a possibly good tps sensor($50)...my car idles at different rpms. sometimes 500 rpms and sometimes 1500 or 2000 rpms. seems to be different when im in drive and when im in park. there are also times when it will be consistent at 750 rpms some days. is this definitely a tps problem or are there other sensors that could be bad?
also, if i need a new tps sensor, what brand is the best? thanks

Re: throttle pos sensor symptoms?
I recently had some idle problems as well. First place that most searches I found spoke of started with cleaning the IAC and the throttle body. I started with just the IAC and the passage it fits in. It had never been cleaned and was quite carboned up. That fixed my problems completely. YRMV.

Re: throttle pos sensor symptoms?
Not 100% sure on your motor, but on mine (2.8 V6) it's on the left side of the throttle body. Look for something that looks like a big plastic nut that's over an inch wide. Mine has a square 4 wire plug.
If you do a search on your motor and IAC, I'm sure you can get some better directions. Not sure if it's 100% the same on your motor.
