My Engine Feels slow, than normal??
I have a stock 1991 305 TPI
Every now and then, it seems like my 305 tpi is sluggish. It still keeps up with traffic just fine. Say Im doing around 25mph then give it full throttle it will slowly accelerate. Then other times when I give it full throttle, I feel it drop down two gears and take of with a chirp like I feel its supposed to do.
Sometimes I start the car, and it runs sluggish, other times it runs like I assume its supposed to(quick). When it runs sluggish the oil pressure seems to rest at the first tick. When it runs normal the needle is a little under half way. I assume this is causing it?
My car has a small "hint" of the smell of fuel, kind of like an older carbed car.
Any Ideas?

if the car is running rich the first thing I would suspect is that you are still using the multi-tech injectors. I would start ohming them out. you can also when the engine is cold prime up the fuel system a few times don't start the engine and pull out the spark plugs looking for wet spark plugs.

maybe its your kick-down (TV) cable that need adjustment, sounds like its not downshifting unless you really stab the pedal

That sounds like it could be the problem, at 3/4 throttle it will down shift once, at full throttle, and I mean full throttle no less, it will drop down 2 gears. Does that seem normal?
