Hi i have a 87 trans am 305 TPI, auto, no mods, i turned the car off one day went in the store and when i came back out it wouldnt start so i got it towed home, i got looking at it about a week ago and tried to get it going, i couldnt hear the fuel pump so i put a new one in still nothing so then i ran a wire from the battery to the pump and tried to start it and it will start for about 1 second then stall, its acting like its getting no gas

 

If the MAF is bad it will start but immediately stall. ECM doesn't look at the MAF until the engine is above 200 RPMs. Not saying that's your problem but a quick test is to unplug the MAF and try to start it. If it fires and stays running (albeit with the check engine light on solid) that's your problem.

 

just went out and tried it, it didnt make a differance with it unpluged

 

i aslo have a new distibutor and coil in it.My fuses are all good, i have good spark and fuel pressure but no fuel getting into the motor

 

Lol have a problem that's really close to this jump the fuel pump relay and see I'd you get fuel pressure.

 

i have fuel pressure its just not going threw my injectors i checked the wires today with a test light and the passenger side has power the driver side dosent, even when cranking the car over or when it starts for the 1-3 seconds the light just stays on solid (dosent flash) and the driver side still dosent get power even when cranking, could it be the ecm

 

i should post the things i have replaced already so you have a better idea of what it could be, i have replaced the fuel pump 2 times(thought i got a bad one), the distributor, coil, fuel filter all the fuel lines, swapped the computer out and tried another, checked all fuses, checked for pressure in the rail, i can unplug all my injectors and it doesn't make a difference it will still start and stall, tested my relays for power with the key on and i get nothing but when i turn the switch on from my battery to the fuel pump 1 wire in 2 different relays gets power its brown with a white stripe

 

sounds to me like your getting no injector pulse. did this problem begin after you changed out the dizzy?

 

no it was before, i thought it might be what was wrong with it but i was wrong, i can start the car and keep it running by spraying gas into it
