Re: What valve seals!? L98
I just have a few things going on right now, so please give me about a day.
lol it actually does take a few minutes to confirm the I.D. of the seal has the proper interference fit so it doesn't fall off.
I prefer the viton ring & band style seals that are 0.150" thick on top, so that's how much it reduces lift clearance by.
If this is an issue then tell me now. If you're close on valve lift clearance then you may be unable to run the better seals. It always depends on what you've got.

Re: What valve seals!? L98
I think i may have found the numbers i need..
SS72526 [Valve Stem Seal Set Qty: 1] Exhaust; Premium valve stem seals incl.
SS72527 [Valve Stem Seal Set Qty: 1] Intake; Premium valve stem seals incl.
SS72877 [Valve Stem Seal Set Qty: 1] Exhaust; Opt. Hi-Temp. premium valve stem seals incl.
These are the fel-pro and i do believe these do not require machining but work alot better than stock? Let me know if these are the ones i should get

Re: What valve seals!? L98
SBI part# 122-1075
From S.B. International direct, or distributed through Northeast Machine & Motor Supply INC.
Ring & Band positive style - Viton
Should contain 16 seals.
Nominal Stem dia. 11/32"
Top stem I.D. 0.316"
Overall height. 0.490"
Inner seal height. 0.3220"
Bottom seal I.D. 0.494"
Sorry I don't use Fel-Pro for valve seals. The last time I used them was about 20 years ago before I started working with cylinder heads. They didn't fit very tight, came as set of 8 positive seals with 8 small O-rings, or 8 umbrella seals, so I had to use two sets.
What you listed also includes the part for the umbrella style for the exhaust side and should work for you as a simple stock replacement.
It's actually fine to use the looser fitting stock replacements if your exhaust guides are worn more than 0.002" or some cases where you're using an older stock valve (material) in a cast iron guide without a bronze liner.
Otherwise the viton positive style works well on both intake and exhaust. I normally don't use the O-rings or umbrella style seals.
I prefer the viton ring & band style.
IMO the SBI seals are excellent quality and have a very large selection where you can pick exactly what you want for a tight fit.

Under downloads there is a PDF file that lists all of their seal specs.
There are a few typos I have found, for instance for the part # I suggested to you in the column for Nominal guide O.D. which is why I didn't list that spec.
Your stock guide O.D. should be right around 0.556" which is actually in the range of the 122-1075 seal.
I have used SBI for a very long time and have never had a problem with their products.

Re: What valve seals!? L98
So just to confirm these SBI seals will work without any machining to the head, granted there are not lift issues, and i think im okay but i will check my cam has .455 lift?
