TPI reliability & common problems

Hey everyone!

I've got a 1991 Z28, 305 with the WC-T5, almost 97,000 miles on it. The car has been sitting for almost four months now due to three electronically failed injectors, which seems to be a common issue on these cars. Its in nice shape, currently having all bodywork done and getting repainted.

My daily driver will probably last until next summer, before it dies on me. I'm fixing my Z28 in the spring and it may need to be a daily driver next year. What are some common issues that tpi cars have? I have had plenty of thirdgens, and know that the fuel pumps love to go out at the most inconvient times. I'm just concerned about future matinence issues, headgaskets, water pumps, fans, intake gasket leaks, computers going bad, etc. The car has new plugs, wires, water pump, fuel filter, computer, and soon to be battery, all new injectors, starter, and fresh oil and coolant. I ran Seafoam and Restore in the oil it has now thats been in it, so that needs to get flushed!

What are some common problems you all know about? I'm trying to take care of all the ea@y and cheap things first.

The fusable links that connect to the starter, and heat related starter issues and failure, both due to lack of proper insulation and excess heat-soak.

The front brake lines - flexible section that attaches to calipers tends to collapse with age.

The design of the throttle body is such that problems arise due to the build-up of carbon deposits, because the EGR discharges so close to the throttle-body, and the crankcase vent also discharges here when there is excess blow-by and low manifold vacuum conditions. The blow-by makes the area around the throttle blades (to include the IAC valve) sticky, then the carbon from the EGR sticks and builds up over time.

The VATS system - resistors in the key tend to get flakey at inconvenient times. The VATS can be turned off while reprogramming the PROM.
