timing/ecu? harmonic balancer off?

Whas the problem? What r u trying to achieve? EST Pigtail disconnected and set timing at 6*. Reconnect pigtail, disconnect battery to reset the TC 42. Then your set. Keep in mind that you have a v8 which does drink gas compared to a sipping 4 cylinder.

Het Guys, Sorry for the delayed response. Ive been real busy with my new job. Code 32 is fairly common. Usually caused by a failing EGR temp sensor. You would also get this code if the EGR valve was stuck open but the car would idle very rough, if it would idle at all. More likely it's just the sensor. There's a tech article on the fix here on TGO.
As far as your timing issues go, Ill repeat what 86IROC said about setting timing with EST disconnected. Be sure to clear code 42 afterward to insure proper function. If you still have drivability issues, you either have the wrong balancer(Some SBCs had the timing mark at 12oclock. Others, like the F-body, have their timing mark at a little past 1oclock. The balancers will interchange as far as fit goes. The timing mark will be about 30degrees off with the wrong one on an engine. Or your balancer's elastomer has slipped. Another reason to like fluid dampers.
Misalignment of the cam and crank(timing chain) will cause the timing to read way off but more than a few degrees and the engine wouldn't run at all.
