Question on Bosch III 24# injectors

I just purchased a set of 24# injectors for my 89 firebird L98 (350) with headers and no cats. I know the stock injectors are 22#. Jon from FIC told me that the bosch 24# in stock L98 are working great for his customers on L98s without burning a new PROM.

1. Does anyone have any experience with these injectors in their "for the the most part" stock L98 running at 43.5psi without any PROM change.

2. Also, since I have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator. Can I set the pressure a couple psi lower than 43.5 (with vacuum disconnected) to make them flow like 22#? Would there be a difference between burning a PROM to accept 24# vs lowering the fuel pressure?

3. If I leave the pressure at 43.5 will the ECM adjust enough so my car will still run right since it is only slightly larger than stock injectors?

Re: Question on Bosch III 24# injectors

I don't think you're going to have a problem.

I'm running the Bosch III 22 lb injectors. And with the fuel pressure at 43 psi, I get 160 BLM's (lean). Upping the pressure to 50 lbs on my car gets the BLM's around 150. I tried 55 psi this weekend and am still only getting 142 BLM ranges. Ideally you should be running somewhere near 128 BLM.

You should have no trouble running your car at 43 psi with those injectors.
