Why is my car doing this?
I really want to get to the bottom of this issue.. I did a search and I didn't see anything that I found immediately useful, so here goes.
Sometimes when I go to start the car, it will start, but then the RPM's drop and it stalls. Sometimes it will act like it wants to start, but doesn't seem to be getting any fire. After a few tries it will start up and run just fine. Although it does idle high (I think?) at 1500.
Then, occasionally when I am driving... I will accelerate, and will get no power.. like I push the gas pedal, but nothing happens... seems like the car bogs down. I feel like this happens more often when I am going up a hill.. could be my imagination or coincidence, as there are a lot of hills around here.
I KNOW I need a MAF sensor, but other than that, I'm not sure. We have replaced the fuel sending unit, the fuel pump, and the injectors. I have also used seafoam.
I admittedly do not know too much about cars, but I know A LOT more that your average woman and even some men, and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty, learn something, and figure things out.

I would say it does the funky start thing 7 out of 10 times. And it bogs down when I accelerate very randomly... it's not very often.

I'm gonna clean the IAC Valve and see where that gets me.

First thing I thought of when you started explaining the symptoms was MAF.
How do you know it needs replaced?

Re: Why is my car doing this?
My husband told me... lol. I am just taking his word for it.
I think I have a vacuum leak as well, so I plan to find and repair that, then I am going to clean the IAC and throttle body, and then make sure everything is set correctly. And I will replace the MAF too.
I think that should def. cover it... what do you guys think?

Re: Why is my car doing this?
Had a mechanic do it..
NOT the same guy who cut the hole in the back if the car to do the fuel pump.. after I found that out I didn't want that guy touching my car!

Re: Why is my car doing this?
take it to him, my guess is that you must have some warrenty, he should check the whole sistem for you, and if he tells you thats not the problem you got one less thing to worry about, if he does find something problemed solved
