91 RS TBI to 89 TPI?? What do I need?
OK, to start with I have a 91RS which the PO bastardized the engine and fuel system.... Slipped some sort of 350 truck engine under the 305 TBI. I have quite a bit of drivability issues. Yes it still has the 305 comp and chip and the Green and white injectors. This is a "project" for my son and me. ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
That said, I have a great line on a complete, unmolested 89 TPI. I think this would be a great upgrade since no matter what I am messing with the computer chips and injectors... Will this be plug and play? I have read, I think since there is sooooo much information, that there are some differences in the 89 and earlier cars vs the 90 up cars...
HELP!!!!
Thank you all in advance.

its not plug and play but its not hard either. you have to change one wire across the dash and you have to repin a few wires in the drivers side connector also known as the c-100. i did this swap 2 weeks ago so its all pretty fresh in my head still. also the usual like the right high pressure fuel pump. also need to know what the tpi motor is from. there are some differences in the wiring. i did a camaro engine in my pontiac so i had to change some things. if you need message me and ill tell all i know.

You'll need the computer, chip, and complete wiring harness from the TPI motor.
In my mind, it would be alot cheaper and ALOT easier to get a 350 TBI prom, 350 TBI injectors, and 350 knock sensor for what you have, and doing that should clear up your issues.

Can I wire an 89 tpi with 91-92 harness and computer? Or are the hard parts different? I know there is the SD and MAF difference.. but which would be better. Looking at a small cam and exhaust, probably vortec heads...
Thanks
