LS1 Heads # 806 on a 305?

Hello,

I am wondering if I can put LS1 Heads # 806 on my stock 305 TPI? If so what other parts or modifications do I need to do? I am looking to get some more horses out of the 305, and I can get teh heads for $200.

I think LSx motors/heads have different coolant passages that are routed differently or something - I'm not sure though - now I'll get to read responses and know myself

Re: LS1 Heads # 806 on a 305?

ok this has been brought up a few times....a factory LS head or a aftermarket LS head thats been molded to be a LS bolt in WILL NOT FIT A SBC!!! there is a company that i don't know the name of that is either working on or selling (idk if they have completed it yet) a head based on the design of the LS that makes it better but that will bolt on to a SBC

Hey thanks for the info. I wasnt sure if I could purchase a diffrent intake that would allow me to fit the heads on or not. This site is great for a novice like myself.

It's not the intake that's the problem, they're completely different engines. You'd have as much luck putting a Ford 302 head on.
