Cylinder 5 and 8

I have no combustion in these two cylinders...

Compression Good, Spark Plug Cables (MSD Super Conductor) appear to be routed correctly. Someone have a Diagram? I'm using 30lbs Accel Injectors (Yellow Casing). How can I check to see if they may be the problem? Spark at Distributor, Check. Please Help!!! I will retest compression tomorrow.

Spark at Distributor,.
But do do you have good spark at the plugs?
Are plugs wet or dry after cranking ?

Not sure how to check if I have good spark at the plugs...

The engine turns on and runs just real rough.

How did you check for spark at the dist?
Do the same at end of plug wires

Re: Cylinder 5 and 8

I removed the spark plug boot from the distribtor and pulled it away slowly looking for the spark to jump. Do I pull the spark plug boot from the spark plug and pull it away slowly to see if the spark travels from spark plug wire to the spark plug or do I remove the spark plug wire and spark plug and then reconnect the two to check if the spark plug is sparking?

Re: Cylinder 5 and 8

try moving those plugs to different cylinders, and if you feel adventurous do the same with your injectors. if the problem moves where you swapped parts you'vefound the problem.

Pull a wire off a plug , put a old ( good ) plug in the boot and rest it on the engine (to ground )
Should see good spark across plug gap.

Re: Cylinder 5 and 8

If there a way to check the injectors without having to swap them around?

Re: Cylinder 5 and 8

you can ohm test them without removing the few rail. Get a DVOM digital volt/ohm meter and set it to 2k ohms, measure the resistance of each injector. for our cars they should be around 16ohms but anything about 12 is fine as long as all of them are within 2 ohms of each other. BUT they can ohm out good and be clogged causing a funky spray pattern.

Thank you Mr. Twenty Seven...

Besides fuel, from the injectors-
Spark from the spark plug-spark plug wire-distributor

What else could it be...

Re: Cylinder 5 and 8

I have spark at the plug...

Is it possible for the injectors to be wired incorrectly?

Re: Cylinder 5 and 8

you can't really wire them incorrectly, they either get voltage or don't. what did you get for an ohm reading? have you tried unplugging the injectors and having someone spray starting fluid down the intake? You could do that and at least know they're firing. The last thing I would check is the pickup coil in the distributor. Sorry for the long winded post but you have an odd problem.
