help with bosch blue top injectors

i recently purchased some injectors off ebay. I was told that they were blue top 22lb bosch threes and that they were a direct fit. The problem is that they don't fit. Tried to install them today but they are way to short. Is there any way to make these work or should i just get a different set of injectors. any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: help with bosch blue top injectors

Easiest thing to do is shave a little bit off the bosses the fuel rails bolt to.

Yes, if they are Bosch d3's and your car is a TPI you can install a second o-ring on the bottom in the groove just above the other. This will give you the extra height you need. What’s the number on the injector? If they are the Bosch D2 metal body it's a lot harder to get the o-ring on but has been done.

Re: help with bosch blue top injectors

What type and size of o ring and you install it on the part that goes in the manifold or the end that goes into the fuel rail

There is no such thing as "blue top" bosch lll's. If they have a blue top and a metal body they are the bosch gen ll's. The bosch lll's are all one color. If they are too short just use the clips that go onto the rail or you can add a second oring to the bottom of the injector as justcruzin metioned but it is a pia to get them on. If you decide to use the orings let me know and i will either send or post a pic so you can see where the oring should go.
What is the part number on them? Make sure that they are not 24lb denso or fms

Re: help with bosch blue top injectors

Those injectors are not 22lb. They are bosch lll's but they are rated at 24lb according to bosch and when they are flowtested with heptane as the calibration fluid. When we flow them with "flowrite" they come out to 26.7lb. Either way they are DEFINITELY NOT 22lb.

Is that to much injector for a stock l98. I went to your site today and figured out that they aren't what the guy on eBay said they were. been trying to get money back but no luck.

Re: help with bosch blue top injectors

They are NOT 22lb. There is a post on this forum that is about 6 pages long regarding the flow rate of these injectors. What is the name of this guys company? i know that stan weiss rates them at 22lb,, but PLEASE trust me they are NOT 22lb. The yellow bosch lll's are 22lb at 43.5psi.

Sorry, i was responding to the previous post before i saw this one. No thanks necessary, i have been selling injectors for a long time and these injectors are 24lb/27lb depending on the calibration fluid that is used to flow them. Glad he is refunding your money!

Re: help with bosch blue top injectors

sry to dig up a old post
I think the idea is to run the highest pressure for the best atomization
then adjust the ECM pulse.

Ford rates its injectors at a lower pressure
thus a #19 in a ford @36psi fuelrail
will transform into a #22 in a Chevy @ 43.6psi fuelrail
or something like that that is why they are a popular choice for around 300HP motors.
here is a app.
http://users.erols.com/srweiss/calcpchg.htm

Power is gained by FIRST turning up the presure and adjusting the ECM
THEN if the HorsePower is insufficient, bigger injectors are needed.

IF you just slap in bigger ones, you will STILL need to adjust LESS fuel pressure and/or a ECM adjustment. for max HP

simply going by injector color is only a starting point.
new corvettes have #65!! @???psi and run fine.
