will '85 MAF sensor work with my '87 ecm?

will '85 MAF sensor work with my '87 ecm?
I am running an ecm#1227165 and want to know if '85 Bosch MAF sensor will still work for this swap...The '85 sensor has 5 wires coming out and my '87 wiring diagram has 5 wires going to the MAF. Can I run the '85 MAF or will my engine explode?!
