MAF Question
Has anybody here tried a newer style MAF with a TPI? Would there be any benefit for power or driveability? I would think they have got to be easier to find and probably less expensive....and certainly more reliable.

Re: MAF Question
Are you refering to the '90+ speed density MAP system or the later LS1 MAF?
Not sure, but I'd think LS1 MAF would not be a direct fit in literal terms, or with the ecm.

Re: MAF Question
No, i am not referring to the speed density setup. I am curious if any newer style MAFs would work with TPI. I looked at wirirng diagrams today at work and found that TPI MAFs are 5 wire while a 96 and 00 f-body MAFs are both 3wire sensors. The TPI uses 2 grounds, burnoff power, 12v power and 5volt signal and the 96/00 had 1ground, 12volt + and 5volt signal. So I'm thinking maybe a 93 or 94 sensor might work. If I remember right 93&94 still used proms so they would be the most likely to be compatible. I am asking about this because my MAF died and the local GM dealer wants $850 new and 360 for reman, which is on backorder. I got a new gm maf for my truck last year for 180, so I have a hard time paying over $300 for a tpi maf.

Re: MAF Question
I just got done installing a BlowerWorks http://www.blowerworks.net/ MAF 3" unit in my 85 Vette, it uses RTD digital electrics. These guys really did a good job for me and I have never had better performance from my engine.
