Guess my soon to be HP level!

Alright I did a poll like this about a year ago, now its time for the update. My 91 GTA L98 had a confirmed 265 crank hp with stock shortblock, stock exhaust and then the following mods:

1-ZZ4 cylinder heads with no porting
2-PROM tune (very old and for 6000 ft altitude, now the car is at sea 3-level)
4-Ported plenum
5-Siamesed stock runners
6-Gasket matched base manifold
7-Airfoil
8-Cold air intake
9-TB coolant mod
10-Flowmaster 80 series muffler

......Again that was all good for 265 horsepower.

What is being updated:

1-Fresh tune for all adjustments
2-Hooker supercomp LTs to 3" true dual w/H pipe, dynomax bullets, dumped before the axle
3-Holley 58mm Throttle body
4-TPIS AFPR (Running 47PSI unless someone can tell me something better to do)
5-SLP Intake runners (2nd Gen)
6-Port match the Plenum (again)
7-1.6 Roller Rockers

With all that, to do...what do you think my new HP/TQ will be?

Took the word right outta my mouth.

Might as well do a cam if youre taking the intake part. Then you can make 300-350 at the crank .

Re: Guess my soon to be HP level!

I was thinking about the cam as well

the 1.6 rockers may be good for about 5-7 hp

Re: Guess my soon to be HP level!

i dont think that those zz4 heads are much of an upgrade from the stockers... the new mods you did basically moved your powerband up.... that 58mm tb most likely didnt help anything... slp runners are little gains unless you port them out...... you made it sound alot meaner with the exhaust upgrades and made it breathe alot better but other than that you probably will only feel sent of pants difference...

Re: Guess my soon to be HP level!

I would guess around 275. When do you take it the dyno for the final test?

To tell you the truth I was kinda afraid of changing the cam because the engine has 160k on it and I didn't want to spin it past 5500 rpm. You guys think its that good of an idea? I was figuring that some good 1.6 rocker arms could cure my cam problem. I know its a band aid but at least I can re-use the rocker arms later when I drop in the 406 (its in a different state waiting on heads....and the car)

Re: Guess my soon to be HP level!

are you capable of doing a cam swap

if so then get a cam out of like a zz4 or something where they take the cam out and replace it with something radical in a new shortblock

those types of cams go for cheap on ebay

just reuse your lifters and get new valvesprings

golden untill she blows
