TPI is all done, builder feels like an idiot.
Okay guys heres the deal. I started with a factory dual cat, 3" Flowmaster 80 series cat back and tune. And now I have done more upgrades. What I was going for was a 250 whp TPI. I added ZZ4 (113) heads, bumped the fuel pressure to 47 PSI, bolted 1.6 rockers above the stock cam, and ported the SNOT out of the factory intake. And I was rewarded with....223 whp. Now I understand thats not a bad number, but I wanted more darn it! I mean I had that thing down to short block. I KNOW I could have gotten more.
The things I regret are not porting the ZZ4s (just found Lingenfelter's flow data 186 cfm at .4), I mean even just a little bit of unshrouding would have done wonders. Second was not upgrading the stock timing chain, im pretty sure that its not keeping good timing. Which is hurting the power.
Anybody think im out of line with my numbers? And does anyone have info about ported ZZ4 heads? Lastly Im about to add my Hooker Super Comp LTs to the mix, along with a child deafening exhaust package (x-pipe and bullets dumped before the axle). Any ideas if that will uncork my poor tpi? Can I break 250 whp? I really dont want to get back into that poor engine. I mean heck, im building an entire new one to replace it!
By the way, I didnt cam this engine because it was just supposed to be a temporary engine until I finish the suspension, rear end and tranny. And I want this engine for my truck when im done, that and I really didnt feel like picking up pieces of my car off the track in the meantime.

what kind of headers are you using. a really good set of shorties could probably boost you another 20-30 horsepower. Why would you want to put a "child deafening exhaust" on your car? It will just get you into trouble.
i made 292 rwhp years ago with a zz9 cam, mini ram, edelbrock crappy heads and some edelbrock headers into a 3 inch edelbrock catback. So I don't think your exhaust is hurting you much at all. Do you have the dyno sheet with the a/f?

A good wide band tune will do wonders. Especially since you are running a speed density system.
