Truck dies when it get warm/hot.
I have convert my 1975 Truck from a 1991 Firebird GTA 5.7/TH700. After my convertion the truck ran fine for a year then I start having problems. The truck start and run fine while its cold...as soon the get hot or when the electric fan start running for about 5-15 mins the engine start shaking anf the idle goes up and down untill the engine dies and wont start after that until the cools of...
What I've done so far:
I've checked the IAC and replaced it, I did a minimum air, and adjusted the TPS.
Checked fuel presure 42psi key on and 39psi engine running.
Base timing is set to 6 degree.
No Error codes.
Could it the engine is over heating then shutdown???

thirdgen.org rules state topics need to be about 3rd gen f-bodies.
We'll stretch the rules a little as long as a topic can be considered "related" to 3rd gen f-bodies.
Since this forum is dedicated to topics regarding engine swaps in 3rd gen f-bodies, it doesn't belong here. Perhaps related to TPI, so I'll move this to that forum and let those moderators decide if it should be allowed to live.

Re: Truck dies when it get warm/hot.
do you have a temperature guage? can you see how hot the engine gets?
and if this thread gets locked cuz its not 3rd gen related just start a new thread pretending you have a 91 firebird with the problem...lol
