ok so i have a 1989 iroc-z
i replaced the injectors with the bosch 3 ones stock pressure...
well i also replaced fuel pressure regulator and that car ran good but had a high idle.., i have already replaced the tps and ecm. Before i replaced the ecm it just had the high idle well the day after i replaced the computer i was driving to school i made it about 5miles and i slowed down for a turn and a check engine light shot up and my the rmp's dropped and the car had a bad throttle response then shut off...i could start it up and it would shut off right away..i continued to try and finally the check engine light shut off and the car ran fine but still high idle....i got less then a mile down the road to the school parking lot and the check engine light came on and started to sputter out....after class i tried to drive home had the same problem i had to wait till the check engine light shut off to drive it so i ended up getting it towed home.....i checked and rechecked everything and dont know what it is...i drove it the other night around for 20 min loading up the motor with a burnout and flooring the gas nothing popped up a check engine light so i though i was ok....well today i drove 5 miles to the gym when i put the car in park the idle shoots to 4k like it had been doing before.....so i leave the gym make it 2 miles down the road the check engine light pops up and the car starts to run really bad...low rpm and when i would start to give it gas it felt like it was bogging like there was no tourqe to the amount of gas i would give it.....im so lost and i have no idea what to do....sorry for the long story just need feedback please

 

it could be a bad ecm. did you have it scanned.

 

no i havent i have a scan tool is that what your saying i use?

 

yea man scan that and see if any codes come up. obv your going to have a code bec the light was on but that would be your best bet on where to start. if nothing just go to autozone and grab a computer there like 40bucks

 

also does this car have vats? Ive seen the lock cylinder get a loose connection and the computer thinks the security key has been removed and kills it but then you giggle the key around a little and it works again

 

vats wouldnt make it do that it would just kill the car. did you scanm the compyuter yet. if you dont have access to a scanner go to autozone asnd have one of those monkeys scan it for you.

 

hey i replaced the computer and got rid of the shut off problem but still have the idle problem and no clue what to do
