Racetronix fuel pump/ hotwire kit?
I need a new fuel pump as my original just died. does any one know why they say its for 88-92 and not the earlier years (mines an 87). is this a good choice for my daily driver lb9 or should i go a different route. any suggestions would be welcomed.

Re: Racetronix fuel pump/ hotwire kit?
I just installed the racetronix's fuel pump and had purchased the plug & play harness always. I have an '87, like you. I have not yet installed the harness. However, I think that the harness says its for 88's and newer because the 88s started with the serpintine belt and the alternator is on the drivers side, while our alternator is on the passenger side. I think that it is simply length of the harness to reach the alternator. We will have to do a slice extension, I think.

The racetronix pump works great on my mild 383 on spray, and I've never had a problem, it is a loud pump but you can't hear it unless you are at the back of the car so I don't mind.
Go with the racetronix, you'll be happy.

If you are planning on any upgrades to the engine that would require more fuel then this would be your best bet to do, even if it is a ways down the road. Better to pull the tank once because of a failed pump than when you realize that you need more fuel flow and have to do it twice.
