Firebird intake suxs
I have a k&n drop in filter on my firebird other than sound i dont think it is doing much improvement since it is still sucking up hot air...slp dicontinued intake, and i cant seam to find one that is worth anything...Also cant find much when i SEARCH either. Does anyone kno of anything that can be bought or know how to fab a custom one?? Thanx

ok so you got the tube that hooks to the throtle body and goes to the filter box, that is actually a pretty good set up, i know this prob aint the answer you are looking for but look in the tech mods section on the home page, that page is actually very helpful

have you re-routed the coolant hose that goes through the trottle body? that'll cool down the incoming air considerably. also, have you fitted an air foil in the throttle body. these along with the K&N will help.

SLP's answer was a very cheap injection molded box sealed to the inner fender, and the exact same ducting you have now. It's barely an improvement over the stock setup.
There aren't a bunch of aftermarket cold air intakes for these cars, because the stock setups are pretty damn good. Chances are your stock setup isn't limiting performance as much as you think it is.
