fuel injection question

I have a 92 gta 5.7 it has the L98 engine. The question I have is on the injectors my book said the tolerance is 11-14 ohms is this correct. because I tested mine and they range as high as 18.2 and as low as 2.2.

The second question how far out of range can they be before they need to be replaced. ANY INFO WOULD BE VERY HELPFUL..

I checked all 8 and this is what I got.
1 18.2 0hms 2 18.0 ohms
3 17.7 ohms 4 7.2 ohms
5 7.0 ohms 6 17.9 ohms
7 8.3 ohms 8 2.1 ohms

How many of these are bad?? Is the best thing to replace all of them? THANKS FOR ALL THE HELP!!!!!!

Re: fuel injection question

The one reading 2.2 is bad. Given that you have one bad already and they are likely the stock Multec injectors, now is the perfect time to throw those Multecs right where they belong. In a trashcan. The Bosch III swap is the most sensible way to go, IMO.

Re: fuel injection question

Yeah he Bosch III from Jon at FIC are great
I have tested several brands and Jons are the best.

Flow matched, 22lbs and a direct fit.
He leaves 3 years warranty on them to.

So call him up and talk to him about it.
Phone: 770-888-1662
Page: http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/shop/

He takes $169,99 for a set of 8.

You will be very happy with those injectors.

Re: fuel injection question

I see you edited your first post, 4 of those are definitely junk. The others are probably ok, for now. They really need to be tested hot, but who cares. Put them ALL in the trash, replace all 8 with the ones from the link above. There is no sense in not replacing the set, especially with Multecs.

Re: fuel injection question

with the resistance's you gave, your ECM is seeing around 15~16 amps. pulling that many amps is not good for the ECM, it can burn out the injector driver.
when those injectors get hot, more than likely the resistance drops even lower which drives the amps up even higher.
with good injectors the ECM sees around ~7 amps.

like has been said, replace all of them. if you don't, you'll just have to go back into it again.
the Bosch III injectors are a great upgrade.

Re: fuel injection question

Direct link to the right kit: http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/sh...&productId=134

Dont forget to order gaskets (if you dont have em)

EDIT:
General injector badinfo. Everything below 11 should be replaced.
And change all 8 cause putting in just 4 new wouldnt be good, cause the old ones will fail them to. and a set from Jon at FIC costs $169
And you get a completly new car, smooth idle, good throttle response, and a really good spray pattern from the injectors..

Re: fuel injection question

I appreciate the help on the computer info, but due to My own stupidity I didn't post the question a week ago because the computer blew up last week and I had to replace it already. So lesson learned the hard way!!!!!!!!!!
