Both been done, depends what you want to do and how much you want to spend.
350 stock would be your easiest option.

I'm going to have to go with what has the easiest availability for me. If I understand correctly, the biggest difference between the 305 and the 350 is the internals and i would imagine the computer, but that is just an educated guess. I know that there is also a little difference in the heads as far as combustion chamber size and so on. I'm trying to figure out what would have to be done to make this work. My goal is minimum 350hp

Conversion info can be found everywhere its very common...
you will need a 350 knock sensor a 350 esc module and a PROM tune and the engine of course lol thats your bare minimum
depends on what you are goin for but if you are goin TPI it must be low end
I just finished my 305TPI to 350TPI swap and my total cost with a mix of parts chemicals and machine work was only $1300 and I am putting out 350hp @ 5000 and 490ft-lbs @ 3000
broken down I have high compression and a big cam and lots of machine work done to my heads and intake
but keep in mind 350+ hp is tough to make with TPI... at least on the cheap and easy side
