Bad fuel pressure? I have no idea!!
This is my new problem.. First start up of the day.. starts fine drives fine until I get to a hill... If I am at 3000 rmp starting up hill.. the engine starts acting up.. power loss and sounds like its ready to die.. if I push and hold the accel, it will die.. I have to gradually let off the accel to keep going and the more RPMs I lose... I might be going 45 mph at 3k rpm with the tranny about to shift.. if I start going up hill just a tad, I can not accel anymore.. I have to let off alittle at a time to keep it going.. ALSO.. the vehicle acts up like this and worse through out the day.. point A to point B
Also.. I think I may need a VSS.. my truck has died a few times going down hill in idle and brakes..
any suggestions would be great!

Re: Bad fuel pressure? I have no idea!!
Are you sure it's fuel and not ignition or bogging down under load and dying from something other than fuel starvation? Have you checked the fuel pressure while it is running, etc. to verify? I ask because it could be a MAF or something of the like or even bad plug wires or something and it misses/dies under load. If it is definitely not ignition, when was the fuel pump replaced last? Was it the right one if it was replaced or again is the fuel pressure good at WOT? I had a similar issue with my '93 T/A and it turns out the previous owner replaced the fuel pump with some weaker probably cheaper one and it was fine at idle and low acceleration, but would mis and run like crap up high. Replaced the pump with the right one and it has been fine since.

I thought it might be the pump... but it wasnt.. it was the fuel filter from Summitracing.. I guess the tech guys told and sold the wrong one to me.. I believe this furl filter was for a carb applcation.. problem fixed!! Thanx for the help!!

Re: Bad fuel pressure? I have no idea!!
I am havig the same issue but my engine doesn't die (well I let off before it does) but it will pull like a MF until just over 3000 RPM then like it is starving.
I have a 5.7 TPI, new injectors, new distributor, cap, rotor, module, plugs wires, MAF and TPS. It was running solid as could be for about 3 weeks then one day just started this.
I am leaning toward fuel regulator, filter or pump. The car will run great as long as I keep it under 3000 RPM's but that is not what I want ti running like. I want it "right" again. Any help is always appreciated and thank you.
