Good Aftermarket ECU for TPI / HSR MPFI
Anyone using the Holley Commander 950 ECU or another ECU they'd reccomend for running fuel injection.
Currently running stock ECU for 350TPI with memcal chip but is the worst setup imaginable.
Looking for something to start new from.
I'm getting the HSR in a few months time and will eithe be getting the complete kit with ecu and injectors , or buying an aftermarket ecu sooner and then just getting the intake/fuel rails etc.

I'm using the stock '7730 speed density computer with an Ostrich from www.moates.net
It works great for changing things on the fly. The stock computer is more than adaquate for any engine, unless you're using a power adder.

I'd rather have a 3rd party one as you don't hear as many problems stemming from them as you do dead stock ecu's.
I'm looking to mod the engine to 400-450hp so I just assumed adjusting the stock computer to suit would only get me so far and wouldn't be anywhere near as tuned as with an aftermarket.

Stock ECM works fine if you are prepared to learn how to tune.
There is 434 SBC Vette running in the 10's with a crappy '85 ECM which is the generation before yours and ported MAF (not MAP)

If you have $$ to burn
read
That system has no electronic spark control; only controls fueling
https://www.thirdgen.org/forums/dfi-...-about-ez.html
and programmed anytime you want to make changes to the tune
The Ostrich unit interfaces between the stock ECM and a laptop and allows you to do tuning changes from
the laptop anytime , even while you are driving using tuning software
