Fuel Injector Differences????
I had 3 cracked injectors so I bought a slightly used set. The injector on the left is what I pulled off the 86 305 TPI motor. Part# 5235047. The one on the right is the ones I bought, Part# 5235301. They are both Rochester, and are both for 305 TPI's. My question is will they work? The one on the right is around a 1/4" longer. I would hate to have bought the wrong injectors. Any info is MUCH appreciated. Thanks.-James

Check this website out: http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/shop/index.php
I just bought my set for my 1989 305 TPI. Call them if you need help and talk to John. Ask him for a set take the BOSCH III . He is making them for our cars so no modification is needed. He has great prices and a 3 year Warrantee. His price is the best I found. Look it up on this site TGO everyone has had good things to say about FIC.
Thanks
Billy

1. Your link doesn't work.
2. I would definately not use those injectors if they are 1/4 inch too long. Get the right ones from FIC.

I dont have the money, thats why I had to go used. They are both 305 TPI injectors. When I looked them up, the ones I had said 85 which is weird since my motors an 86, the ones I bought said 87-89. I am going to put them in the port and see if they sit in all the way, thats really all I'm concerned with.

Re: Fuel Injector Differences????
I would buy the Bosch III from Jon at Fuel Injector Conection anyday, I got them in my car and it runs like never before, Ive tested 4 types of injectors / brands and Bosch III are the best, never got better idle and throttle response.
He takes 169,95 for a set of 8 22lbs injectors, that are flowmatched and have a great spraypattern. So I would fix some money and buy his set, he leaves 3 years warranty on them to.
So call Jon up and he will help you out.

Re: Fuel Injector Differences????
I understand the short on money. The part number 5235301 is a AC injector for a 87-88 305 TPI. Just hope they are good. I would still Call JOHN at FIC and ask him if you can get a filter for them and how to change them out. If they are 20+ years old they should be cleaned at least before reinstall and use. Do you know if they are good?

Re: Fuel Injector Differences????
fyi THE INJECTOR THAT IS LONGER WILL FIT. THE O RING TO ORING LENGTH IS THE SAME. HOWEVER I'VE ONLY SEEN THE LONGER 1 ON A L98 1985 AND IS A 24LB INJECTOR. TO MUCH FOR A 305. IN 85 THE VETTE HAD 36 PSI RAIL PRESSURE NOT 43.5 LIKE YOUR CAR. DO YOU HAVE THE PART # I THINK YOU ARE WASTEING YOUR TIME DOING ALL THAT WORK TO PUT SOME USED TOO BIG INJECTORS IN, CALL JON AT FIC. HE CAN SELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED AT A GOOD PRICE. YOU WILL WASTE MORE FUEL THAN THE COST OF THE INJECTOR

Re: Fuel Injector Differences????
When I looked up the part# it said it was for a 305, the part number is in my first post, 5235301. They are both Rochester 305 injectors, I was just concerned with the length, but I went outside this morning and they fit fine. FUNIROC, I was planning on having them cleaned, and yes they are good. To everyone it doesnt look like there will be a problem, as I say we will find out, but thanks for the info, a couple months down the road I will probably pick up a new set, but for now I need to put the car back on the road before winter ruins my fun.
5235301
20.5lbs/hr
215.5cc/m
3 bar
so you are ok.. at 36 they will flow about 19.. i thought the funnel tips were only on vettes. learn something everyday
