new injectors and backfiring??
hey guys, maybe someone can help. i jsut replaced my fuel injectors ( 3 of them were bad causing idling issues when hot and someties no start) my problems are all fixed, no bouncy idle and starts great. i haven't actually drove it yet because am dealing with the fuel pressure.
my problem: installed bosch III 19lb injectors in my 89 iroc 305tpi. it keeps backfiring at wot. now usually to my understanding, backfiring indicates a lean condition??? i talked with jon at fuelinjector connection (where i bought my injectors, recommended on this site) he said they have good luck around 39psi. i adjusted to there (with the vacuum line off while running the car) and kept moving up to about 44psi and kep backfiring at wot. at around the 44psi it started to hesitate when throttled so i backed the pressure back down.
any ideas on the backfiring or is it just nature of the beast with these injectors????
also while doing this i lost the clip for my tv cable to the throttle body bracket - anyone know where i can find a new clip??

Re: new injectors and backfiring??
Is it Ford Racing / Bosch youre talking about ? if wo then your rich at WOT, because they (ford ev1) will flow more at WOT then stock. beacuase they are made for 39.15PSI pressure and we have ~44psi at fuelrail.
If its not the ford EV1 injectors then it may still be pressure problem, is they rated at 44psi ?

hey guys. sorry i am a dumb a**!!!!!! i found my house to the a.i.r. system came off and i didn't notice--- it was sucking air and causing the backfire. the injectors are perfect and the car runs excellent!!!!!!!!
and no they are not ford racing. they are the yellow bosch design iii 19lb. all my previous threads of idling/stumbling problems when hot are gone!
