What distributor to use with tpi?
Hi,
Im switching over from a carb to tpi on my chevy 350. Im assuming since the ecm controls the distributor that I have to use the stock one that came with the tpi. I have Summit h.e.i. with vacum advance currently on the engine, can I use this or not. Thanks for any replys.

Hey Jiji!! Long time no see! ![](https://www.thirdgen.org/messgboard/wink.gif)
Any computer controlled HEI sourced from an 85-91/92 Corvette, 85-92 F-body or same era pickup truck. The distributor is the same for TBI AND TPI so keep that in mind when you are looking. Also, there are two different types; coil in cap design and remote coil/small cap design. There are pros and cons to each one and either one should work for your application. If you need to know anything else, feel free to drop me an email some time (check my chevytalk profile). I would also love to see your Camaro sometime. Good luck!
