Re: Factory injectors
I was actually looking at the accel injectors, summits got 2 listings for factory injectors 21 lbs and 24 lbs. would it hurt anything by going with the 24lbs? My car hasn't really had any upgrades besides k+n air filter, accel 8.8 wires and super coil and also a Jet performance chip.

Re: Factory injectors
305s used 19lb inj.and 350s used 22 lb inj. Upgrading to a 24lb inj would not be your best bet unless you are going to change things in the prom.

Re: Factory injectors
Again, replacement chips being crap anyway. It would still be set for what the car was equipped with. if you had a 305, put 22# injectors in, then put a jet chip for a 350 equipped car. That just might work. But the jet chip should be expecting the 22#s still. upgrading means reprogramming. But if you want to try it anyway, you can always switch them back....

Re: Factory injectors
Yep, stock is 22. Good luck finding them, and I wouldn't buy used injectors. No offense to any potential sellers. Stockers aren't that good brand new, and used ones, even IF they're good when they come out, they're highly prone to drying out once removed.
Ford 24 pounders are the best bet. Do a search.
....YES, they will require a custom chip, but you'll STILL come out cheaper than factory replacements AND you'll have much better injectors. If you can't afford it all at once, the car will run fine on the stock tune, but you want to get the new chip before tooo long.
Basically, the computer will compensate for the 24's, and it'll run fine. Problem is since it's on the edge of it's tuning parameters due to a change, if some problem ever occurs requiring MORE computer compensation, it's not able to make ADDITIONAL changes to the fuel curve since it's ALREADY on the edge due to the bigger injectors. Short term is fine(most likely), but like I said, get the chip.

Re: Factory injectors
i'm using the bosch III 22 in my car,, so are tons of l98 cars,, the mods jon @Fuel injector connection does makes them the same height as the multec.. drop them in an go.. no chip tuning or nothing. You don't have to lower the rail anymore.
