What does your auto shift at?

Mine shifts at 5300 by itself, and all I hear about is how the tpi falls off the face of the earth at 4400 rpm. Does this mean mine has been ported or something? To my knowledge, the tpi setup under my hood I have is totally stock (ie no porting whatsoever).

Mine shifts about the same at WOT...give or take a couple RPM's. I only notice the weakness of the TPI system when doing the 1/4 mile, when it's in 3rd gear and hits the mid to upper 4000 RPM range. Then I can definately tell a difference in how hard the car pulls. First and second gears are no the same, at least not on my car.

Mine winds to an INDICATED 5-5200 on both shifts. Actual shift RPM is 2-300 lower due to tach error and tach latency (verified on diacom)
Shift RPM is PURELY a function of governor in the tranny, it doesn't mean your car has mod 1 on it. Yes over the years, more than a few people have found better ETs by swapping out to a governor that let them shift earlier keeping it in the powerband.

mine for some reason seems to pull right on up to 5000-5300 (where it shifts) i got i ported over the weekend and it seems to pull even harder then before. maybe i just think its making power when its not, i do know that today it shifted at like 3700 at half throttle, when i wanted it to shift harder, and when it shifted into 2nd it was like my car hit a thousand foam pillows, but i never changed the throttle position, then i let it climb and it started pulling hard again. stupid tranny.

mine shifts by it's self at 5200 in first 4800 in second.. and well.. third's at over 130 mph.. so usully i'm not at WOT by then.
but that's dash tach and i KNOW that it's off..
and i can make my engine go up to 6000 when i shift manually.. dosn't mean i make more power tho..
