what he didn't tell you is that he's also got a set of hedman shortie headers, crane afpr and he actually ran a 15.27 at 89mph with the 2.73's. really not bad for a baby camshaft mild bolt on 89 lb9.

Re: TPI best et 15.20
there's still some things holding him back though. he needs a real 3" exhaust, he's running a 2.5" crimp bent i-pipe and a blowmaster muffler. we also already discussed that this motor was a rebuild, and it's possible it's down on some crucial parts (haven't id'd heads yet, not a clue what camshaft, house brand rebuild motors have been known to have weird things about them...like mismatched piston combos and such...)
regardless, the car went a 15.20 with the 3.45's with a broken posi unit. realized the posi was broke and i put the 2.73 posi 10 bolt back under the car. he was running pretty consistant 15.4x's/.5x's, then he made one pass and it ran a 15.27...had the rear not been broken, i think it'd run some 14.9x's with the 3.45 9 bolt...
so how's about we line my firebird and your 88 up? no nitrous, just *****...what you say? modded tpi 305/t5/3.45 car against a mostly stock 350/auto/3.45 car...what you think? just for kicks...since you can't touch my 305 car

so you put the broke rearend in the firebird? but ya thats fine, we'll line em up. ya i cant touch your 305 RACE CAR, but ill eat the firebird up all day. my iroc should be running by this weekend. maybe in a couple weeks we can line em up. i say we run the completely stock 350 vette against the firebird... 350/auto/? vs. 350/auto/3.45... ive still got all the emmisions garbage on it, should still run low 14's.
scratch that your firebird is a carb so im sure it will be a little faster than my puny tpi.. but we'll still line em up. if i can keep up with a 305 then thats an improvement.

rearend ain't broke no mo'
come on tho, the 350 in the 'bird is a low compression truck motor...you should be able to keep up your car has aftermarket runners, afpr, headers and full exhaust...and then the same cam and gears as a g92 car...i'd hope you'd keep up with the 'bird!
but i'l take any of your cars with the white car lol, it's still street legal!

but i am not about going fast, i dont have the money to do it right now, besides id rather have my four good looking cars anyday rather than making one of them fast. maybe when i get my real job instead of this part time bull i can afford to build and put an ls based motor and 6-speed into the 67 that i can race with. it will happen eventually... but ya your on for linin em up. i still dont know how this one is going to run, it is a stock 13x,xxx mile motor, all i did was replace that one rod and piston so i hope it will work out ok i am sure it will but you know how it goes getting nervous before startup. i am hoping to have it running by the end of the weekend.

Re: TPI best et 15.20
we can run the vette/firebird as well, but i want a piece of the iroc mainly...the motor in the firebird is just a 260horse crate.

Re: TPI best et 15.20
when you get your stuff together, i wanna run you in the white car i think that'd be a good race if you want, we can get it lined up for november for the musclecar evolution shootout, that way you got plenty of time to get the bugs worked out...you know...just for fun
