Will I see any gain from the Edelbrock base???

Just curious of just how much of an improvement I would see with this base over the stock piece. I dont plan on porting it out, although I know it would help, but I dont have the tools nor the know-how! So how many horses should I see(approx.) with my current set-up(mods in the sig.)? Would it be worth the money? Thanks for any thoughts on the subject.

I saw a pretty impressive gain with my LPE base. I really don't know how it compares to the Edelbrock, but I would bet you could see a good .3 drop in your 1/4 ETs with it and the mods you have.

Sounds about right...get the Edelbrock base from Jim Pace performance Parts...cheapest price brand new, $330...The Accel base is a nice piece though. It's also pretty damn expensive!

Just by adding the Edelbrock base on my 350 tpi I improved by close to 2 tenths which is close to about 20hp.

I agree, the experts in their tests say 15-20 hp on a stock 350.

Hmmm, 15-20 on a 350, I wonder if it would be about the same for my lil' 305? I was wanting to have Ed Wright(or similar) burn me a custom chip too, I really think it would do wonders over this hypertech chip. Hopefully with the base and the chip, I'll be able to knock 2 tenths off my 1/8th mile times. I guess I'll have to wait and see! Thanks for the replies guys.

When I had my 305 TPI, I had a bunch of mods for it like, Headers, pulleys, chip, cat back, K&N's, shift kit, 1.6 RR, and I bought the Edelbrock base and runners and I was slower in the 1/8 mi. I think I dropped a 10th or 2. Just my experence.

I realize this post is mega old, but tommarow I will be finishing the install of a accel base. Any guesses on what it will gain?

Basically I have a 383 with sportsmas heads and a full exaust, with my cam I make peak power a 5500.

The intake is completly stock, down to the air filter.
