Not all TPI engines have an A.I.R. system do they?
For the life of me I dont remember my '92 Z having it but my '87 T/A does. I want to convert it completely over to a non-A.I.R. set up. Its just too much in the way when it comes time to do nearly any underhood project. I need to replace my pass. side valve cover gasket which necessitates removing pretty much the whole system from the pass. side anyway. I want to do it "right" and make it look as completely factory as possible, enough to fool even the most die hard T/A fan that maybe this car never had it. At the same time Ill probably go ahead and update the exhaust to a non air cat rather than just plugging off the port. I would'nt mind updating to a dual cat Y-pipe but from what I understand I'll also need the matching manifolds, or are there headers made for the dual cat Y-pipe I could use instead?

all tpi engines have the AIR system. someone must have deleted it on your 92. the only way to delete it without anyone knowing is getting a set of aftermarket non AIR headers with their y pipe. as for headers for a dual cat setup yes theyre made im not sure but dyno don i think makes headers and possibly for the dual cat. just look around.

Hmm...the '92 only had one owner prior to us and they would'nt have removed it so I just must not remember it. It just seemed "cleaner" under the hood then this car...and easier to work on for some reason, 'course I was younger then and maybe things did'nt frustrate me as quickly as they do now, lol.

Yeah, they both had/have A/C...I think being the second owner of the Z and god knows how many people have messed with this poor T/A before I got it might have something to do with it. Things just are'nt as bundled together as nicely I guess.

related to post question,
theres the a.i.r / smog pump delete pulley for exported cars. the pulley would have to been used on either tbi or tpi equipped cars. does anyone know what car would have been the exported one with this pulley, year body style engine etc?
Im in canada all camaros and firebirds have smog related equiptment, air pump etc.
